So when revising, should I use the spec to learn the relevant parts from the textbook. or should i use the spec after ive learnt everything in the textbook and use it as a checklist?

Use the spec like a checklist because it summarises the key points for the topic whereas your textbook goes through it in more detail so it would be more useful for revision. Hope this helps
