Do you have any advice for writing personal statements for IR? I am interested in the LSE, St. Andrews and Edinburgh.

how does IR affect you?

why IR?

discuss how some countries use IR - some strong-arm, others use cultural diplomacy etc

you could analyse a topic that is relevant today - perhaps a slightly less known topic and look at how different perspectives could interpret it/be impacted by it.

perhaps discuss what the ideal world would be for IR

any books you have read about it?

could any of your experiences on a personal level be relatable to international issues?

A bit of a ramble but first ideas that came to mind. Good luck
