G-protein coupled receptorsWatch
1) What's the difference or purpose of the Protein Kinase A & Protein Kinase C
Does it make a significant difference which of these proteins are involved in the GPCR pathway?
2) The A2A receptor signalling pathway is PKC-dependent prior to the onset of Alzheimer's disease. But in the progression of the disease, the A2AR pathway becomes PKA-dependent.
So I don't understand the specific mechanisms by which the PKA pathway induces neurotoxicity in the disease.
3) With Gas (cell growth and motility), Gai (cell motility), Gaq (cell proliferation),Ga12 (cancer progression and mestastasis) ,Gby
What mechanisms in particular allow the g proteins to induce differing effects?
Mechanisms of G Proteins -- in a chapter or two (at least) of a pharmacology text
