Jester has left now until Saturday so I'm not sure about who is on the waiting list etc etc. I'm sure we can do a little team shuffling on the Thursday if no-one has got back to us by them, assuming everyone got Jester's PM.

Ignore him. He's too easily distracted by shiny lights.

im thinking about buying a 360, but there are about 4 or 5 different versions varying in price and memory capacity.

just wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

    cheers

Don't bother with the Arcade version or whatever it's called, you'll want at least a 20GB hard drive. It's also not really worth splashing out on the more expensive Elite version either unless you plan to play in HD. Stick to the standard 360 package I think. I can't check prices here at work but I'm sure others will get back to you soon

how much money you got to spend?

if money isn't an issue - then the elite.
if it perhaps is - then the premium.

but i reckon you need a HD. so yeah

This. Don't make the mistake I did and buy the Arcade version. You'll only have to buy a hard drive and headset when you decide to play Halo 3 online.

However, I got my Arcade version very cheap second-hand with a couple of games. Then I sold the games (they sucked) and bought a hard drive off ebay (reasonably priced unlike Microsoft) and also a decent headset (the official wired one is ****). So it's not all bad

Just make sure you take into account the price of accessories and Live when you work it out. Now that I mention it, buy Live off ebay too, it's much cheaper.

I can play in 1080i with the component cable I got with my Pro. 120GB HD D is also probably unneccessary unless you plan on downloading films from Marketplace.
