    Whats happened? :hugs:
Martin is being a real *******. All of our talk time is unilaterally set (by him) and we've just been having so many spats lately. It's just incredibly frustrating.

Thanks guys. :hugs: I just feel so dismal about it....like ARGH. I guess evey couple has their rough times but still.....it's rough, especially because I know that we don't really have rough patches when living together.

I kno lots of people that plan to go their seperate ways from their respective g/f's nd b/f's when we all head off to uni...
My personal belief is, that if you love someone enough, the relationship will keep going whatever the circumstances...
What have people done? What is the best course of action??

well considering there is a LDR society... i think that shows that quite a few have decided to stay together and the majority are still going strong.

i had a lot of people say that they were going to break up at this point in the year (last year) then it got to september and they decided to stay together as they were far closer and in love etc and were willing to make it work... i would say about half the couples who were together before uni are still together half didnt make it through the first term. its a test for most relationships, some survive some dont.

my personal belief is the same as yours hence why im in a LDR england-spain.

I've been with my girlfriend for 3 years, we're going to try and make it work. If it does, then it does, and if it doesn't, then it doesn't. One can only try. I'm mature enough to understand that university doesn't have to mean purely getting intoxicated every single night and promiscuous sex, and I'm going to have a great time even if I'm taken. I'm hoping to only be 2 hours from where I live anyway, so I'll still see her fairly often.

Anyway, university "years" are hardly that at all. One goes there in September, is home again for summer, year finished, in like July, and spends many a week back and forth in between there for all the other holidays.

I agree that love can conquer all if its strong enough, but sometimes the pressure can be too much
I'm worred about what will happen when my boyfriend and I go to University, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see

You will only know that it will/won't work if you try. As for 200 miles, people manage further distances According to nationalrail, it takes between 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours to get from Southampton to Birmingham - I managed 4hrs each way when I was at uni Now it's 2 1/2 hrs

For this past 6 months I've been living in Spain and my boyfriend in England, which is about 962 miles away according to google :p: It's possible! And it's only a year until she'll be moving to unis. Maybe she could look for ones in the South?

I never knew this forum existed, and im glad it does lol
Im feeling pretty down at the moment as well, my bfs going back to uni on sunday and ive been spending almost everyday this xmas with him. I dont go back to uni until next week which is really annoying. Im really worried that this semester will be even harder than the last one, the first wasnt easy but it seemed to work okayish, argh i just hate the fact i only get to see him every 2 weeks for like 2 days! I know its not that bad compared to some but i wish he was there sometimes when im stressed or sad or even really happy about something. Its bad its making me not want to go back to uni! Argh any advice on how i can feel slightly better.
Aww i know how you feel. Its like you end up living two lives, one with your bf and another with uni. What I would say is that try to keep yourself as busy as possible doing different activities, and don't turn down any socialising opportunities. In my first year (3rd now) I didn't do as much as I could with my new friends but I guess I was coming to terms with having a LDR, and being away from home etc. I had a LDR on a smaller scale for a year with the same bf before uni, so thats 4 years of LDR! Ahh, somtimes it drives me abit bonkers.

I didn't do well in my Mock Exams and on Wednesday (21.01.09), my Mum is going to take my phone off, my computer & ground me until 21.05.09 (when my exams finish) and my parents will not come to my Leavers Ball for college (the biggest event of you're schooling and £80 a ticket).

Is this unfair? The requirments my Mum expects me to get are that for Cambridge students (I have 5 in my year who got offers...I'm only applying to Dundee Uni where the requirements are obviously lower). I have a boyfriend who lives about 100miles away & our main source of contact is MSN & mobile.

I really need some advice on how I'm going to be able to stay with him through this.... I've spoken to him about it and he says he wants to stay with me and just wait it out but I don't expect him to wait that long for me...

This isn't the 1st time she has done this & I managed to sneak a phone but she was picking up the signals off her clock radio & things got a lot worse for me so I cannot risk that again....

    Help.

Goddamit - i still can't see "LDR" without reading Light Dependent Resistor. Was wandering why you'd have one on your phone. Physics has really messed me up.

Sorry, no help to you :p:
