Army nurse

I’m currently starting my adult nursing uni course and hoping once I become a registered nurse to apply for a qualified army nurse, Does anyone know what it’s like to be an army nurse or thinking of going into the army and how best to prepare. Realistically thinking I have a good 3+ years to be physically fit.

Contact your AFCO and see if they can put you in touch with a nursing specialist to get some more info on this.

There are training programmes and apps on all the Armed Forces recruitment websites; they are geared towards getting you fit for the military and your fitness test, but there are also any number of similar online. Three years is plenty of time, and you don't need to spend money on joining a gym or getting a personal trainer, though you could try some classes like aerobics, zumba, or going swimming to build up your general fitness if you are new to phys, and look at things like 'couch to 5k'. The one place to pay is for a decent pair of running shoes!

One thing to do is check your medical records and see if there is anything that might be an issue for joining up.

Good luck!
