Hey All- the A chord on a guitar should be played with three fingers, over the second fret of strings 4, 3 and 2.

I cant get the 5th string to ring clear on this note as my first finger will be too far away from the fret (wide fingers!). But If i hold down all three strings with my middle finger it works ok- Is this ok? or should I avoid using just the middle finger, I dont want to pick up the bad habit.

    Thanks in advance Danny.

And P.s- this wont be the last guitar related question

Theres a few ways to play an A major.
    In tab it works:

    e--0-----5-------9
    b--2-----5------10
    g--2-----6-------9
    d--2-----7-------7
    a--0-----7-------7
    e--0-----5-------7

The first two being commonplace the last being a bit unusual.
