Apparently eating disorders isn’t mental
Which is what the interpreter was telling me at a gp appointment. What is it then?
What do you mean by mental ? Anorexia nerviosa Is a psychiatric eating disorder . Anorexia (on its own) the word for not eating a lot can have many reasons ie they’re feeling unwell so don’t eat but Nervosa is when they’re purposely not eating due to a psychiatric cause

I mean psychological. It’s a better word. The interpreter was saying she can have an eating disorder but she’s not mental. She was talking to me about referring me to somewhere for constant gastric being the reason why I am eating less.
Sorry if mental came across as offensive
