phoned them

I've just emailed them, don't think I could face phoning them - I'd probably just break down into a blubbery mess.

I wonder how long they will take to reply.. :frown:

I've emailed them before -I made a new email account and then deleted it after they had replied...their advice wasn't great but they really calmed me down!

I emailed them at about 9 in the evening and then checked it again as soon as I'd woken up - the email had come at around 1 in the morning

Emailed several times. Bear in mind their job is not to advise you, just to give you an outlet for your troubles.

Alot of pshycotherapy etc is just getting you to talk about it yourself so you come to the conclusion on your own, so in that way, its awesome.

I have emailed them before I think it takes up to 24 hours for them to email back - I could never face ringing them. I hope you are OK.

I have I emailed them. Yes, their answers are pretty generic but they are good at making you feel like they actually give a damn even if they don't really go out of their way to give you proper advice or say anything you weren't thinking but didn't believe.

It was about my GCSEs of all things... See, when you look back on dark moments in your youth you feel kinda stupid.

Reply 13

Yeah, they were quite good looking back...although they usually deal with suicidal people they didn't make me feel as though I was a babyish time-waster just because my stresses were linked to exams

So was mine!

I've emailed them before, but I didn't find it particularly helpful, but maybe because I had already had my mind set on suicide for so long, and one simple email wouldn't help that much. But they do give great advice.

Also, if you are considering phoning them, they do not put the phone down on you if you break down into tears, so my counsellor says, so you don't need to worry about that :-)

I called them once and the man just patronised me. It depends on the person I guess, but you have done the right thing. Getting it all out is a step in the right direction.

Reply 17

I called them crying my eyes out and the guy calmed me down and we ended up talking about all my problems for a good hour and a half. I felt so much better afterwards.

Good luck with whatever it is you're going through, OP. And what I also found helpful was the one-to-one function on this website -
