I have no idea where to put this so I hope this is the right place.

Anyway, my little sister just asked me why if you put hard soap in a bath with bubble bath in it the bubbles all go and google has completely failed me. So do any tsr people know why?

Something to do with the surfactants in the soap interfering with the surface tension between the water and air.

    I think. :s:

I think it's something to do with it changing the surface tension - basically it takes out the springiness so the bubbles all burst and then no more form.

    edit: damn, beaten to it!

I always wondered this. Soap is a spoil sport. Solution: Don't use it when using bubble bath.

Ah, yep, the surface tension idea sounds right.
