pwc response time???

having had a interview yesterday for pwc, i read somewhere that if u dont get a call within 24hrs inviting u to book your AC, you can probably expect an email within 72hrs rejecting you, is this true? how long did it take them to get back to u after the 1st round?

I thought the interview was quite tough and i got asked so many unexpected q's about why i wanted to work in tht particular audit area, so i am not expecting a yes unless they base it on whole app which was quite strong.

Took about a week for me to be asked to book AC after 1st interview.

I finished my interview about 5.30pm, had an email at 9.00am declining me :'(

I got told at the end of my interview and it was confirmed by a phone call two days afterwards first thing in the morning.

It depends on how long it takes your interviewer to write up your report. They might have a lot on and so take a few days, but they usually do it whilst its fresh in their memory.

My first interview and my AC were both on a Friday and I didn't hear back until the following Tuesday for the interview and the following Wednesday for the AC.

Took 3 frigging weeks for them to get back to me after first interview saying I had got through to AC. Sometimes, if they are running out of vacancies for the particular service line you have applied for, they want to finish interviewing all the possible candidates going for the remaining few positions before they make a decision about who they want at the AC.

It took them a week before they phoned me to tell me I got through to the AC. There was one bank holiday in that time period though.

Btw - what sort of tricky public services style questions did they ask you John Williams? Was it a similar idea to how I had described mine had gone?

mine said it could be a week until they tell me if I am invited to the AC but they let me know on the next working day

first interview on friday, weekend + bank holiday monday, call on tuesday

didn't get the job in the end though :frown:

but don't read too much into it the interviewers are busy people and will get back to you when they can

hey, one of your points helped me out as they asked me what issue is currently facing the public sector and i talked abt the lost data/security problem and how pwc can help solve this. Otherwise i got asked why pwc, how public sector assurance differs from private sector and thus why public sector appeals to me (on this q i got asked alot of follow up q's which i messed up), then discussion on crredit crunch as i had written about it in my ideal client (realise now i probably shouldnt have!).

There were NO proper competency q's, just brief discussion on 3 of the things frm my app form and she asked if i could explain what i did.
Other questions were, strengths and weaknesses, and finally if i had ever presented to a group and how i did this.

The end! SO alot of what i had prepared on competencies didnt come up, nether did things like, why audit, what is audit, what will you do day to day etc etc which made it difficult. I guess with the only vacancies left in audit being public sector, they know ppl r applying who have no interest in the public sector, therefore question u on this.

Moral of the story...apply early!

Ironically, i believe the head of PwC has been asked to investigate the security leaks.

In my experience I would agree with the earlier post about how long it takes to write up the report. The person who interviewed you will do a report and send it to the graduate team, its that team who make the decision whether to take you to the ac.

I was told on the day I would be going through, but got the word officially after a couple of days. I'd give it max 1 week then give them a call.

To be honest your first interview sounded harsher than mine. I wasn't asked too many follow up questions regarding the public sector - that only happened in the final interview.

Have you heard back yet?

Na I wouldn't be so downhearted by that - it took them the best part of a week to get back to me after the first interview.

It took them over two and half weeks to get back to me and i got a second interview. Don't worry yet. Good luck.

I had an interview on Friday and was called later that afternoon. They said that they still hadnt finished my report though, so I think it really is just dependant on the office.

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if people who have passed the telephone interview have nailed each question asked (some, such as about ethics were hard to think about) or did you have some pbls answering some questions.

Thanks!
