What will happen when the NHS is privatised in 2022? Watch
There will, however, probably be increasing involvement of private providers and marketisation behind the scenes in the form of contracts, cherry picking of easy/profitable patients and procedures and so on. Unprofitable services will be more at risk of being shut down, which is likely to affect less affluent or more complex patients. It's worth mentioning that this is not something new, althought I believe it may accelerate and widen.
But to the non-medical and unaware public the shiny hospital building will still be there and it will still look and feel "free".
People are extremely protective of it and the Tories know it.
The NHS is not for sale and never will be, as Quady has already said it would be political suicide, and I mean the end for any party that did it.
