Hahaha 250,000 profit a day? No, I said it makes around €200k a day..in sales, from the tills. No need to twist things now. All of these figures are in euro, which I don't think some of you are accounting for. My store is one of the biggest, and certainly one of the ones with the most turnover. The company has market dominance in the republic, and it is far from it in the North. Those figures smoobla quoted are for stores IN THE NORTH ONLY. I don't know the annual profit my store makes, I'd imagine it is far more than 14k, and I also haven't a clue what the annual profit for the company as a whole is here, because legally it doesn't have to publish any of it's figures.
Even so, the figures are still immense, and hence shoplifting being at 10 mill or whatever makes no odds. Head honcho man still makes a mint, and considering losses for other things like ordering too much (most shops do over order to keep shelves filled) of something which a lot of, perhaps even the majority of will be wasted, especially in grocery (which is it's own type of nicking - nicking resources for which Africans would probably kill for, but instead dream about). So in retrospect, if these shops can't be arsed to clamp down on the supposed rampant shoplifting in your store then it's the company's own fault. Simple as. I don't nick nor condone it, but it seems stupid to me that based on the other losses and the general profits made by this business don't really mean it will be affected by shoplifting in the slightest, not like independent stores etc (who will also have independent measures in force to reduce shoplifting, which generally work).
So that's why as much as I don't nick, if someone does nick from a big coorporation, then so be it. It's tough.

Anywho, bedtime - bye :ciao: good argue starsarefixed though - cheers :yy:
