From a Scottish surname which was originally derived from a place name meaning "great hill".
It was originally used in honour of General Charles George Gordon who died defending the city of Khartoum in Sudan.

    A man of gravitas.

    What is your experience?

Gordon Brown is a great man and certainly could be a great PM. However, I get the impression that he has been waiting for so long for the top job that he's forgotten what direction he's heading in, and that for a leader is bad.

He was a bad chancellor and a worse PM. We were badly prepared for the economic storm and he's taxed us all so much and created so much national debt that we will be suffering for at least the next 5 years.

I feel sorry for him, but even so I absolutely cannot wait until June 2010 when he's completely trounced.

Gordon the engine, who looks a little bit evil but at least he's an original, unlike these ridiculous yellow girl engines they've introduced.
