    'Monster' is really quite hilarious.

I remember him also as being the only comedian to go on Johnathon Ross and not be boring. I know it's a little unfair to expect comedians to be hilarious all the time ("Hey, you're that funny guy off the telly, aren't you. Go on, say something funny! Go onnn!"), but you would expect them to be naturally amusing conversationalists.

'Chocolate bread! That's how they start the day. It's only going to escalate from there. By lunchtime you're *****ing everybody you know. I was in Paris recently - they are very good at pleasure. I was walking by a bakery - a boulangerie, which is fun to go into and to say, even - and I went in, a childish desire to get a cake - "Give me one of those chocolate guys," I said - and I was talking to someone on the street, took a bite... I had to tell them to go away! This thing! I wanted to book a room with it. "Where are you from, what kind of music are you into? Come on!" Proper, serious pleasure. Because they know they're gonna die. Nobody goes to church. You think, we're gonna die, make a ****ing nice cake.'

I love how he talks about the French! Especially the bit in Monster that he says before this

    Ah...

Although it is a part of his act, I can't help but be glad he's not going to die of lung cancer inthe next decade and be funny instead.

I thought that he no longer smoked on stage because of the smoking ban? Or are you talking about something that wasn't from the last year? :p:

I usually hate smoking, but he looks really hot when he does it (my avatar proves this! lol)

I dunno - from what Emilina said, sounded like he was trying to give up, which is what I meant.

I think his stand up is great, I'd love to see it live.

Black books is so funny as well, you can watch all the episodes on 4od.

My favourite episode is the one with the children's story :
