I don't mean that I seem simpering or overly nice, I don't. But I feel burdened with a personality that means that people take liberties, use me and take advantage.

Is it extremely likely my perception is correct or is it just a thought everybody has that I have out of proportion?

I just always go by the idea of treating someone as I would think they would personally treat me...

I feel the same sometimes. For me it's not helping people with work or something, but holding back in certain situations because of others. It's ****ing annoying, I hate it.

Me too.
Don't be a door mat, son.
I'm nice but life has taught me not all people are so I am now nice with people up to a point and less people try and take advantage of my nature now.

It does take time although it was not really a conscious decision just something that happened over time.

People say don't change who you are because of others, but I'm afraid sometimes, you have to.

I'm still nice with the people that matter though.

Trust your judgement, guy. If you genuinely feel like you're being taken advantage of, you probably are.
Who the funk is anyone else to say what you're feeling is wrong?

There is a difference between nice and let people take the piss. I am pretty good at separating the both.
I 'suffer' from this too, apparently. But there's nothing wrong with being nice, as long as people don't take massive liberties. We need more people in the world like you.

Ahhhhh nooooo :toofunny:

4 things:
1. Distinguish between whether people are taking advantage of you or not
3. If they are taking advantage, get some new friends
5. There's nothing wrong with being nice
8. :yeah:
I've been there:redface:. I've just learnt how to recognise and avoid these people by time.. Just be nice to people learn to put boundries/say no.
If you think you are 'too nice', then change. If you respect yourself as you are, then don't change. What others think/do is irrelevant and meaningless.
