If I cancelled a deferral and the reapplied the year after would I get done for plagiarism with the same personal statment?

No UCAS don't care if its self plagiarism.

No, the work has to be original. Colleges use plagiarism checking tools that can look for plagiarism in online web sources and their private libraries. Thus, if you have previously submitted the personal statement, most likely it is saved in the library of the college and your paper will be detected as plagiarism.

I would recommend writing a new one from scratch. After you have written a personal statement, make sure that it has no plagiarism and run through the plagiarism checking tool that is used by your school. Do you know what software is used at your school? I know that our college uses Unicheck.

Personal statements are different to essays - 999tigger is correct, it doesn't matter for PSs
