It is time for the MHoC awards for the 29th Parliament – a termly tradition to reward positive contributions to the MHoC.

As usual, there will be seven awards to hand out:

1) Debater of the Parliament
The member whose sheer wit and dazzling persuasion have left you in absolute awe.

2) Newbie of the Parliament
A member who, though unheard of six months ago, has made the best impression since then.

3) Award for Best Legislation
A showstopping tract of legalese that made you go all weak at the knees. (Please send a bill title and link.)

4) Comedian of the Parliament
Awarded to the wittiest member whose contributions always give the House a few lighter moments.

5) Drunkard of the Commons Bar
The MHoC's resident drink lover who can do a superb Eric Joyce impression.

6) Mr/Ms Congeniality
The nicest member of the House.

7) The Speaker's Award (The Govey Gong)
An honorary award for the member who's most caught my eye during the 29th Parliament.

Nominations for the first six awards may be sent to me – by TSR PM by 18:30 on Wednesday 1st January please. The seventh award will be awarded directly by me , rather than by a vote of MPs.

Just a note, the Comedian, Congeniality, Newbie, Debater and Drunkard award have a requirement for nominations. In that the person has to have posted in the MHOC Forum during the last parliament,

Debater will be won by Jammy.

Newbie, all pretty standard.

Legislation, some boring Tory stuff will be crowned winner as Labour produced average shizzle and Tories are vobots.

Comedian, the Libertarian Party.

Drunkard, expect someone who pretends to get drunk and goes on the off-site chat and talks about it will win, when in fact they probably sit alone in their bedroom most nights.

Mr/Ms Congeniality, will probably be won by Catus.

Mr/Ms Congeniality, will probably be won by the bland fart that is Catus.

Speaker's Award, if Cactarse doesn't win the above she will win this, Andrew loves to rim her.
Debater will be somebody that made one contribution once and then refused to show their face ever again, Connor?

Legislation will be a Tory thing because they'll practically whip the awards and there will be several lefty things, at a guess SWF because the Tories are really fond of the state stepping into the realm of the private sector and further endebting the country in the process

Probably right on drunkard

At least we have the Mandatory Welsh Bill to keep us safe from bad jokes.

Debater: Baron
Newbie: Sadly Mogg won it last time so despite her awful social politics, Shadodweller.
Legislation: b1505, b1514, b1520 or b1537
Comedian: Andrew
Drunkard: Bearded Man for sticking around there, possibly BornBlue too (Dsilva)
Congeniality: Mogg
Order of Gove: Baron for achieving leadership and being the greatest shadow foreign sec the mhoc realm has yet seen.

Will narrow down later.

No surprise there, Rakas choosing those that site in the corner and his own stuff, and of course exhibits yet more double standards

Debater - Jammy
Newbie - N/A
Legislation - B1505

Drunkard - Rakas (I don't really visit the bar unless tagged and I'm mainly tagged by Rakas so that's where this has come from)
Congeniality - Glaz

I cannot believe the energy going into Andrew as 'Comedian of the Parliament'.

Everyone finds his update jokes cringe and his Catus flirting odd.

The jokes are meant to be bad. That’s the whole point of them...

I don’t see why not. (Although maybe replace the starred out word with rubbish or something as that may cause needless strife)

Well the second option was simply a case of what the first one really means
