Hey buddy, there is nothing wrong being average but there's everything wrong not lifting yourself up. We all start from nothing and end up with something. Sometimes being average or poor is very good because it give us to challenge ourself and to live for something. A purpose.

Look on the other side of rich kids, the have no purpose, not all of them but most. They can get whatever they want in this world, they do anything and then they get tired of life and probably end taking drugs which probably ends their life as an overdose.

So be thankful that you have a purpose to live for. Without purpose we are nothing.
