SOAS derija Arabic shortcourse

Hi I am a British Muslim born in Uk and of Moroccan origin. I want to take the derija Arabic short course to learn to communicate better with my cousins as I don’t really speak the language as I was always taught English by my parents. Can anyone give me any advice. Has anyone been in the same situation?

Hey! I’m also Moroccan British but I can speak Darija Alhamdulillah, I’ve actually never heard of any courses that do darija arabic! But I have a friend that’s half English and half Moroccan, I’m guessing it would be easier if you learnt Arabic first and then went to Morocco and practised.
Also this past year I’ve been able to learn Turkish from their series with English subtitles so maybe you could do the same :smile:
