Postgraduate grade

Hi all,

I’m mid way through my masters degree in a social science based degree. I gained a first in my BSc Economics degree but feel I won’t match this grade in my masters. I’m worried that if my masters grade is anything less than a distinction it would decredit my first and look worse for job applications (especially for the dissertation as I would really like to pursue a career in research).

Any opinions? Thanks

I know many people who got firsts at undergraduate level and got merits at postgraduate level - they've all gone on to have successful careers and/or secure PhD funding.
