I quite liked it... I would have written something similar. I think it was just that question.

    Muni.

its just about readable and it lacs argument slightly, but its not that bad hance why it is a 7.5 but its just the worst BMAT essay iv ever written.

i know the bmat marking scale varies year on year depending on peoples performances, but is there a rough indication on what percentage of correct answers on sections 1 and 2 lead to a particular mark, 5?

i dont know, probably because they admit the most medics. newnham? don't like to socialise with boys huh? :p: but then again they have the lowest application to place ratio out of all the colleges, so statistically you have the highest chance of getting in!

    The conversion is here: http://www.admissionstests.cambridge...conversion.pdf

That was the actual paper for 2008. I just did Section 1 and got 16/35 eek but that is actually equivalent to 4.9 according to the scaling in that link. Quite surprised to be honest, thought it would be super hard to get 4 let alone 4.9. I definitely need to work on the time management.

were doing the 2008 paper so you mean 2007.

Also that COMA thing was Disappointing, the questions were stupidly hard and they dint really help much.

whether it's your opinion or not is not important. all it does is shift the question, but it's still the same question. Whoever it was that gave that opinion, it's an effin daft opinion.

I know what you mean! Newham is really pretty but I don't think I could cope in an all girls environment. Being in a all girls sixth form for the last two years has kind of put me off the idea! I would have probably applied to Newnham if it wasn't all girls. Do you think it would bother you?

If you don't mind me asking, what were your UMS?

lol I can just imagine the conversations... 'so where were you thinking of applying?'...'ummm, I'm not sure yet, maybe Newnham?' :p:

What made you apply to Johns then if you wanted somewhere statistically less competitive?
