So I'm in A levels and i hear the second year go on about it all the time. I have an account but I lost it ages ago because it meant nothing to me and still means nothing. Is it actually gonna do anything or can I just apply to stuff on the main websites?

If by 'the main websites' you mean university websites, then no, you can't. Application to UK universities must be done through UCAS, and it's on the UCAS website that you create the the form which you sent to universities to apply to them. You include all academic qualifications, a personal statement and other information in this form. I'm sure you can recover your account, but I would expect your school/college to go through applying through UCAS with you later this year or early next year, including showing you how to log on and giving you login details.

Glad you like it, but regardless of how 'good' it is, you can't use it to apply to UK universities.

You have to apply to UK universities through UCAS. That's always true, no matter what other sites you use to help you with the process.

Go read the About page on Unifrog - you'll find a bunch of references to them helping students to fill in their UCAS forms.
