PPE at Swansea

All these universities offer PPE:

Oxford
Durham University
Essex University
Hull University
Lancaster University
Manchester University
University of East Anglia
University of Kent
University of York
Warwick University

And now Swansea has jumped on the band wagon - http://www.swan.ac.uk/ugcourses/Humanities/BAPhilosophyPoliticsandEconomics/

What does TSR think of this? Anyone applied there? Is this good becuase it is the only welsh uni to offer it? With only ABB as requirements do you think it will be looked highly upon by emloyers?

And any other opinions from TSR on the subject of PPE at Swansea?

Its good news and a good development for the university. Earlier this week their first medicine students graduated (Although on Cardiff degrees), and from students entering in 2009 Swansea will start giving their own degrees. It isnt a bad university, the 2/ 3rd best in Wales, and ABB is slightly higher than their average entry requirment.

I think it is positive news from a student's point of view as it gives people to study a course they are interested in, even if their grades arent good enough/they arent clever enough to get into one of the better universities.

Essex (a similarly ranked university) only want BBB-CDD, so I am somewhat bemused that they have set the requirements at ABB.

With those grades Lancaster would be academically a better choice (by FAR).

Queens Uni in Belfast are offering it for 2009 entry as well!!

Hi i am applying this year , did you get in ?
Any advice you could hand us.
I am studying history,business( no choice to do economics),welsh baccalarete(sp) which swansea fully accept as an A and Performing arts btec( again swansea accept).

Predictated grades...
Business-A
Wlsh Bac- A
Histoy-B
Performing arts- Distinction ( equivilant to an A)

heya, they accepted be but i actually declines swansea to do law in bangor, but when i went for my interview they guy seamed pretty enthusiastic bout me going there, tbh my only advice would be to keep up to date with current issues and try and read arround the subject. tbh as long as your interested in current affairs and make this known to the admin people you should be okay.

Economics: C in AS, Predicted C
Business Studies: Predicted C (provisional) at AS
Physics: E in AS
Biology: E in AS
