I lied to someone ages ago, and now I can't tell the truth about it. I know this is really vague- but should I wait until it doesn't matter so much or just leave it?

What's the lie?

It depends how bad the lie has become...

Mm...try to wait I reckon - if the lie isn't hurting anyone then don't worry about it - if it's a friend or something you wouldn't want to totally destroy their trust in you over something really stupid.
However...if it's something important/life threatening etc. you really should tell the truth.
If you think you can handle keeping the secret to yourself and know that it won't hurt anyone then do it..but if it's eating you up maybe it would be better to say something?

This is bad advice but... since you've lied already and can't do anything about it... just leave it at that. (Unless its something really importantly bad.)

How big is the lie?

it really does depend on what it is?
If its something like:
I think i'm in love with your boyfriend or I killed your Dad then its probably best not to say anything
whereas if its something like I ran over your cat or I split crap on your top then i'm sure you'll be forgiven
