Hi there  Happy to see you've booked your UoCELT
The test consists of four parts: Speaking (approximately 10 minutes), Writing (approximately 30 minutes), Reading (approximately 25 minutes) and Listening (approximately 10 minutes).. Do you have questions on specific areas?

Yes please i want to ask about reading part which, according to you, is of 25 minutes. My main concern here is what would the reading part involve basically the structure as what would be assessed. the pattern same as ielts Reading so i can practise from there.please assist with this so i can improve my weak areas in reading.

Hi @Sskkrr  So the Reading component takes approximately 25 minutes, as you mentioned. This includes 10 minutes of reading an 15 minutes discussion with the interviewer.
You will be asked to read the passage (about 500 words) and highlight key information in the text. Then, you will discuss your answers with the interviewer, making reference to what you have just read. The interviewer may ask you to justify your answers or explain key vocabulary and textual features.
To prepare for the reading section, we would always recommend practising reading articles from sources such as BBC news and other UK newspapers like the Guardian, the Independent. Highlight key points in the text and try to understand new vocabulary from the context. Practice explaining the highlighted key points in your own words

Hi @Kanwalmalik23 :hello:

We have some information about the format of the UoCELT here - https://www1.chester.ac.uk/international/how-apply/entry-requirements/university-chester-english-language-test

For the writing section, it takes approximately 30 minutes, including 5 minutes discussing the topic, 10 minutes planning & 15 minutes writing.

I hope this helps but if you have any further questions you can contact our International team on [email protected].
