Retake a year and still study medicineWatch
Any advice please
If you were my son/daughter I would advise restarting yr 12 as they may not teach the topics in the same order so you might end up with gaps in your knowledge, or they may use different exam boards. For medicine you need excellent grades and anything that might affect that should be avoided. It might also help with finding work experience to boost your application as you will be 18 by the start of the summer after your second yr 12 so it should be easier to get your foot in the door at relevant places.
... and for the clinical phase of medicine you will be needing to move around to different locations for your placements and still need to cope with your workload. This kind of disruption seems to some extent to be part and parcel of medical training...however ecolier might be able to offer some more informed advice?
However for med school while you'll move around, it's not that far away (your base is still the main uni, so assume it will be <100 miles away from that unless you're in Scotland).
And of course, when you're a junior doctor you're already an adult with your own job (and salary) so hopefully you'll cope better!
