I'm kinda new to studentroom, but i need answers to a question in regards to how the GCSE/BTEC courses i chose will affect university entries. In year 9 i chose to do the following courses for GCSE:
- BTEC First Diploma in Business - which i attained a Distinction* which i have been told is the equivalent to 4x A*'s...but i'm not too sure
- GCSE Psychology
- National Diploma in ICT - where i attained a distinction which, again, i have been told is the equivalent of 2x A's, and again, i'm not too sure about that.
So...back in year 9 i fancied a career in business or a related field, however over the past two years i have had a massive reconsideration about what i want to do in later life, i now really, really want a career in medicine. However, will the GCSE choices, and the fact i did BTEC's instead, hinder my applications for a medicine related course/degree? i'm really worried that it will. The other GCSE's which i took, im predicted to get A's and a few A*'s.
Finally, my As Level choices are as follows:
