Why Liverpool Is A Great City To Study InWatch
Liverpool is one of the biggest student cities in the United Kingdom today. To help you all understand why I have put together a post on why Liverpool is a great city to study.
Home to four amazing universities.
This means that the student population in the city is quite significant. This means that there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make life-long friendships.
The people are so friendly and helpful.
On my first weekend in the city, I got lost looking for a supermarket. Thankfully, a stranger recognised that I was lost and walked me around the corner to where I needed to go. In fact, my story is not out of the ordinary. In 2018, Liverpool was voted the kindest and most helpful city in England.
The city is packed full of culture.
The International Slavery Museum, Albert Docks, St Georges Hall, the central library, the Tate Art Gallery, the Beatles Museum and the Cathedrals. These are just a fraction of the places you can visit as a student in Liverpool. In fact, Liverpool has the most listed buildings in the UK outside of London and the oldest Chinese community in Europe. If you still don’t believe me that Liverpool is bursting with culture, in 2008 Liverpool was named the cultural hub of Europe.
There are loads of places in the city to eat out and enjoy the independence that being a student brings.
If you want to go out into the city and have a great evening, Liverpool can cater for all. Including, but certainly not limited to Bold Street, Liverpool One, Lark Lane, Matthew Street, China Town, Baltic Market and Allerton Road. These areas are packed with iconic restaurants and bars which students’ regular use during their studies.
The city has one of the best nightlife scenes in the UK.
Its official, Liverpool is one of the best cities in the UK for student nightlife. Concert Square is legendary for being the centre of Liverpool’s student nightlife, being packed full of clubs and bars. If you are into your events and live music, the Baltic Triangle is the place for you. But if you want a quiet drink with your friend Matthew Street and Smithdown Road are the places for you.
Living in Liverpool is super-affordable.
For students, living somewhere with is affordable is super important as it means that we can spend our money on a cultural experience, meals out and nightlife. The average price of accommodation in Liverpool is not expensive and a night out in town will not break the bank.
