Grealish and Maddison together England team? Watch
1) In a 4-3-3 both players will go forward but defence is also important
Example: Henderson, Chilwell, Dunk, Gomez, TAA, Grealish, Henderson, Maddison, Sancho, Kane, Sterling
2) or in a 4-2-3-1 but Kane will be on the bench and I don't think Southgate will do that but both players will be playing in their preferred positions. Grealish LW, Maddison CAM
Example: Henderson, Chilwell, Dunk, Gomez, TAA, Philipps, Henderson, Grealish, Maddison, Sancho, Sterling.
What are your thoughts? Who would be in your 23 man squad and would you start both Grealish and Maddison. I think they are the best at the moment and both deserve to start better than (Mount, Barkley, Alli, RLC (though he's been injured)
Henderson (definitely should be No 1)
Chilwell (No 1 LB by far)
Cresswell/Bertrand (Think Cresswell edges it to be sub LB)
Dunk (Good CB deserves to be team instead Maguire)
Gomez (Good CB will be main CB would be good with experienced player like Dunk)
Tomori (good back up CB to have)
James (Can play a lot of positions full back, CB, DM) he is a solid player
TAA (best RB)
Walker (hard one between his and AWB. But I think Walker edges it)
Philipps (DM is a position England need more options he could be perfect solid there for Leeds and maybe Southgate should give him a chance)
Henderson (Unsung hero for Liverpool there need his experience Euro 2020)
Rice (Extra DM needed as it is a very important position for England)
Grealish (Great player, deserves to start)
Maddison (Great player, deserves to start)
Mount/RLC/Alli (if RLC is fully fit by then should be back Chelsea by Feb I think he would be better fit than Mount. But Alli will probably get this position he has been decent under Mourinho)
Sancho (Great winger)
Sterling (great winger)
Hudson Odoi (good to have as back up and super sub)
Bowen (another option Lingard, Rashford have struggled maybe Bowen of Hull deserves to start he is having a great season at Hull can play RW, CAM and Up front.
Kane (Hard to see him being taken out but maybe should be benched if England play 4-2-3-1 so Grealish and Maddison both start
Abraham (good striker, decent back up to have)
Maddison is good, I'd have him in everyday.
But the two of them together are going to need an enforcer, type Henderson.
England XI / cover
1. Tom Heaton /Nick Pope
2. Trent Alexander Arnold / Ben Chilwell
3. Conor Coady /Joe Gomez
4. Kyle Walker /Danny Rose
5. Kieran Trippier /Luke Shaw
6. Jamie Maddison / Deli Ali
7. Jack Grealish /Mason Mount
8. Jordan Henderson / Alex Oxlade Chamberlain /
9. Ross Barkley /Harry Winks
10. Raheem Sterling / Jadon Sancho
11. Harry Kane /Tammy Abraham / Marcus Rashford
Lingard, Jones, Rice, Pickford, Stones,
Kane isn't back from his surgery until April at the earliest. He will not be fully match fit for the Euros so it would be best for England to prepare without him.
A pacey front line of Rashford, Sterling and Sancho might be the way forward.
2. Kyle Walker
