I got some new shoes. They are really pretty but they HURT and I can't wear them

I've got some mad blisters.

Anyone have any tips for breaking in new shoes?

I want to be sophisticated and wear smart shoes but I can't.

Are they leather or another material? I always find leather shoes easily to break in...

Put on your favourite fluffy socks, then the shoes and do a dance around the office in them :awesome:

Does anyone have the same shoe size as you in the office? Maybe you could wear them in shifts

Blister plasters are lifesavers! Perhaps you could ask a friend with bigger feet than you to wear them a bit and stretch them slightly so they rub less (I sometimes get my mum to do that)

If it's the back of the heel that is hurting.
I rub a little bit of vaseline inside the shoe to help with the movement, definitely stops blisters.

Apparently you can put thick socks on, and before putting the shoes on warm them with a hairdryer (obviously not enough to melt them or something!). I've never used that technique, but it might be worth a try!

I wear doc martens which take a lot of breaking in - I tend to wear them with a pair of hiking socks at first, little and often. That or I'll wear two pairs of normal socks or tights and socks. The compeed blister plasters are very good - the ones that come in a blueish green plastic container. I also do the hairdryer technique sometimes but not too much or on too high of a heat as it can damage the leather.
