So..... I have a lot to catch you up on as I am starting this quite late in the year.

I take GCSE Music (which I am slowly regretting taking it more and more each day), so my teacher makes everyone in our class go to choir. Now, I like it because I have friends in Year 12 and 13 that I talk to so it's fun for me. We have done 2 events so far, Prizegiving and the annual Christmas Carol Service.

Later, the day before October half term happened and it was time to perform House Music. Every year, it alternates between Drama and Music so we I do it in Year 13, I get to conduct it (which would be fun). House Music consists of a junior soloist (years 7-9), senior soloist (years 10 and above), a set song, a chosen song and an ensemble piece. Our set song this year was 'Everybody needs somebody to love' by The Blues Brothers and our chosen song was 'Somebody to Love' by Queen (my favourite band). And guess what. WE CAME FIRST!!!! There was tears after, not from me, but tears were spilled.

Late November and Early December rolled around and mocks were upon us. I gradually found them out through the following lessons after the study break (which I definitely want reinstated to us permanently, it provided us a nice rest) so I shall share them with you all:

English Language- 5
English Literature- 5
Maths- 4
Combined Science (Trilogy)- 76 overall
Religious Education- 5
French- 4 overall
History- 6 overall
Drama- 7 for written paper
Music- 3 for written paper*

*On my report, my teacher raised that to a 5 because she included performance and composition to it.

I then took those results and before I knew it I was going to an interview for a sixth form. I think I went alright but I feel like my answers were too short and I didn't expand on it enough so I. am. worried. He said I should be hearing back in about 4 weeks so wish me luck.

At A-level I wish to do:
Biology
Chemistry
Film Studies (if I stay at my school)
Or
History ( If I go to the other school)

Finally, while all the GCSE business is going on, I also have to worry about doing my confirmation my the middle of all of this.I make mine on the 31st of May which just so happens to be the day before both my history exam and biology exam. So I'm going to have a whale of a time this year.

Hope you enjoyed reading! Feel free to ask any questions!

Hello! Thanks for stumbling upon my page. So it turns out I'm actually from North East London (there's a reason why I didn't take geography) but it's still great. We've had pretty bad weather lately but it's very nice. When I go into Greater London there are so many people and I can't fathom it!

I am so grateful for your message, Thanks for reading!

 I was the same when I found out a certain area of Belfast I thought was part of the west was actually in the south of the city! The election posters gave it away... (Same with places in East Belfast I thought were in the North :eyebrow:)

I don't know why I do this to myself......

So last night, I decided to rewatch a series on Netflix because there is a new season coming out soon so it was to remind myself of what happened. This show has 8 episodes in it, each 50 minutes long.
Not bad, right?
Wrong!
Me being stupid I decided to watch all of them resulting in me not going to sleep until 2:35am on a Sunday night. I also had French and English homework due the next day (today). Thankfully, I got both of them done because they were collected in and my parents evening is tomorrow. How fun!

Let's just say today has been eventful. We've been asked to show what we've got so far in our drama on Wednesday and we've been trying to get a lunchtime together and the only day everyone could do it was today (but I couldn't because I had a compulsory revision session) and no one decides to go because another girl couldn't go and all they had to do was make up a dance to 'Who Run The World (Girls)' by Beyonce.

By the way, anyone who has done 'Girls like that' in drama please message me, we need ideas.

Now that that's out of my system, I got exciting news! My maths revision finally came! Whoo!

Maths has always been my WORST subject but hopefully I can get the 6 I need to do A-level chemistry (if anyone has any tips and tricks, also please message me!)

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions, feel free to ask

Use this website called Seneca Learning if you are struggling to revise. I'm not kidding when I say it helped me to get 888877776 last year as I had over 100 hours on it. Also, my motivation was mainly the 2 month summer after GCSEs so if you focus on that, it will help you get through the year!

Our science department introduced us to that. Absolutely amazing! Still trying to convince my mum to get me premium but its so helpful. The 2 month summer is so exciting, just focusing on that and my prom!

I didn't have premium and it was still really helpful but if you think it will benefit you, perhaps invest in it

I also find Seneca really useful as it allows you t o go over subjects in different sections in order to section out your revision more, I got given my Nov mocks back just before the Christmas holidays and was happy with what I achieved.

Another website I would really recommend your school to invest in is called Educake which help with English, Science and Maths and I've found it very useful in order to improve my grades. I would recommend you tell a teacher about it as it is extremely helpful. I'm pretty sure the school has to pay for it but it is definitely worth it if you can get it in time.

I am wishing you luck for your exams in the Summer!!!👍

I can second Lhhornet ‘s comment about educake. my school also has it & it’s really good, i’d definitely recommend. it’s good for revision & homework as teachers can assign a set number of questions for completion but you can also set questions on a specific topic to complete as a revision tool also.

I wish you all the best of luck 😊

Hello everyone!

So, Today is Wednesday 15th of January which means yesterday was Tuesday 14th of January. That meant yesterday was also PARENTS EVENING. Ah the dreaded day when all students have no idea what their teachers are going to say.

Mine went alright....

So after dinner at Wimpy (it's a tradition), we set off to school and automatically got put into a queue because we were early.

First we went to science, now our school does it differently. Because I do Combined Science, we have 1 teacher out of our 3 who does our parents evening so we don't have to go to Biology, Chemistry and Physics. My Chemistry teacher was the person doing my report (My Biology teacher had the first half of the register and Chemistry had the bottom half). So we chatted for a bit but she mainly focused on chemistry and then at the very end she said 'the same for Biology and Physics' without going into much detail, which was a bit annoying but hey ho what are you going to do.

Next was French (I think), and it is safe to say that it was eventful. So she asked me the usual stuff like how am I getting on and then the bombshell got dropped. She. Asked. Me. If. I. Wanted. To. Do. Foundation. I've been in set 1 for languages my entire school career and to get to essentially the last hurdle and be suggested to move down was not what I was expecting. She said it can be our secret because I didn't need to tell anyone and I'm still going to stay in her class so that's good because I would much rather be the best in Foundation rather than the worst in Higher.

Moving on, other subjects went fine until we got to Drama. I'm over exaggerating slightly (it was actually fine). Anyway, she just told me that I just got to work on my timings for the written paper and also talked to me about some things for my component 2 but it was great overall.

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

So I haven't posted anything on here in about a week.....

I got really annoyed this week with like multiple people. By multiple, I mean like 10. It was bad. Didn't say anything to anyone involved (except one) but she told me to drop it because, and I quote, 'You're gonna make it a thing when it's not. So let's not talk about it.' Even though she's gonna make it a thing if we didn't talk about it. But I just thought I'm not going to talk to her ever again when this exam is done so I didn't really care because I have more important things to worry about right now.

Moving on from that, I have the day off this Monday (the 27th of January) so I'm just going to relax and get my homework done at the weekend. Got everything planned out. I also would like to rest because it's also my dad's birthday so definitely the best day to have off! Either, next week or the week after, I am also expecting to find out if I have gotten into the school that I had the interview for which is kind of stressing me out a little because it's my only other option if I choose to not stay at my school (which is my first choice). Also on the 23rd I had my meeting for the Berlin trip my school is doing. We're the first year to go, which is so exciting. History has always been my favourite subject so I'm just excited to learn and basically get a head start for our Cold War unit.

I almost forgot to mention.. I also got a piece of paper on Thursday stating what tiers I am being entering for. Which all of them I was expecting so I wasn't worried at all. Anyone else got these yet or is it just our school that does it?

This was a short so.... Thanks for reading! Feel free to ask any questions!

Hope you enjoy learning about the Cold War - it was my favourite at GCSE by a mile, though there’s a lot of content to cover so be prepared!
