Does my guy mate like me?

anon - just in case.

Okay, so I have this mate. We've been friends for about 3 years now, but recently we've gotten a lot closer. (Basically since I told him about my boyfriend being a serial cheat).
We've been texting a lot, and he's taken me out a few times.
All this has been just friendly though.
I'm just starting to wonder if he likes me as more than a friend or not?

What do you think would make you say 'yes he likes me'?
I really need some advice.
Ask me questions if you need to know more to decide.

I know someone who would know better than anyone if he likes you. Your mate.

True, but if I ask him, and he doesn't like me he might feel awkward around me.
I don't want to lose him in any way.

try being a bit flirty and see how he responds

you can always say you were just messing if he doesnt respond

ooh im in a similar situation...

a guy im becoming good friends with asked me on msn if i liked him

i wanna know if that means *he* likes *me*

but it may also ahve meant that he was just checking to see if im not getting irrational about our friendship because he's 13 years older than me

baffling isn't it

im old fashioned...i think the bloke should do the expressing "those kind of feelings" job...i've identified as lesbian until now ya see so i'm a bit confused about the line between friendship and potentially more

sheesh! tis a toughie innit! :O :s-smilie:

How do you feel about him? If you like him, then you could be looking for non-existent signals.

ooh by the way..the advice bit lol...well what im gonna do is tell said guy that ive been thinking about him a lot and that he blows my mind...ill say this but the rest of the talking is up to him

ultimately, if we aren't meant to be gf/bf the main thing is we keep enjoying our friendship

ill let ya know how my plan goes and if it's one that i recommend for you and your said guy

orrite then all u can do is wait and wait till something happens or u get/give a "signal"! lol! (ohh btw...do u like him in that way?).

Im in the same position-ish. Me and this guy got set up on a blind date. We have been out on 3 dates. I like him and Im 90% sure he likes me. But Im an old fashioned sort, who thinks the guy should express first....thats only because Im worried he may think Im being too forward. I dont want to scare him off. He's on holiday at the moment, so we will see when he gets back what happens.

I'm not sure, I think I might.
But I'm still with my cheating boyfriend, mainly because he's become so posessive since I found out about him. I can't get away from him.

My guy mate doesn't think I should still be with my boyfriend. He's got a problem with men treating women wrong.

No one here can know. Text him a picture of your tits and ask him if he likes. If his reply's aghast, say it was meant for someone else.

i suggest u just dump ur old boyfriend coz i dont think u should be with such a guy (u dont seem to have forgotten what he has done)....that could also open the way for your guy mate to step forward (also gives u a chance to flirt with him :P more freely as someone has suggested)

wat the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT DO THAT????!!!!!!!!

Reply 13

If you're good looking most of your guy mates like you. I'd certainly put my money on this guy liking you.

Reply 14

I'm afraid of dumping my boyfriend, purely coz I've been with him for so long. It's a comfort thing, also I'm scared of what he'd do to himself. Because he's become so posessive.

What things would suggest that someone likes you?
I've been in a relationship almost 3 years, I can't remember all the flirty stuff.

Reply 15

How is it comfortable if he's a serial cheat :frown: You deserve better.

Wait a sec, do you like him and want to find out if he likes you back or are you just curious?

1) Only do this if you like the guy, not just to find out if he likes you.
2) Guys are typically rubbish at reading 'signals' you'll likely just confuse him.

Reply 18

seems like you like him if anything.

If you like him then why dont u make the first move.

I liked this girl but i am so reserved i dnt express my feelings and she was the same, resulting in us moving different ways.

Because I'm so used to it.

That's not a good enough reason! So you'd never leave him unless you could jump right into another relationship? Very very very bad idea... Or just plain never leave him?

(I speak from experience...)
