Mature students tend to stay at Beck House. However there are a number of newer private halls which will have 2nd and 3rd year students as well as first years

Many of the masters students are staying in the student village at Hendrefoilan and those would be closer to your age. Hendrefoilan is due to close June 2021 although that may change so check it out

Fab thank you! I’ve also been looking at house shares, is this something you’d recommend I’m firdt year?

That's for you to decide. I would try a hall first. Which campus are you going to be studying at. Beck House and the village are fine for Singleton. The village is a fair way from the Bay campus. The accommodation at the village is cheaper than most of the halls on campuses and the private suppliers but is more downmarket. There will be an older clientele there if that helps. It is about 2 miles from Singleton about a 10 minute bus journey or 5 miles from the Bay which is about 30 to 35 minutes bus jorney. The accommodation is in houses of 7 in each house so might prove suitable. You might get some first years but also masters students there rather than mostly first years you will get on campus. The private suppliers are in the city centre about 2 miles or so from both campuses about 15 minutes by bus.

Would it be possible to attend the open day in the next couple of weeks and look around to see what suits you.

The university are closing HSV and next year is planned to be the last there although I have heard the university are making an announcement about its future next month and we will have to await that announcement for an update to see what is happening.

There are some great Accommodations in Swansea for First year students depending on what your preferences are. I would advise to check out the reviews on Student crowd to get an better idea of what students think!

Good luck .....:-)

Does student roost have any mature students living there as OP is looking for somewhere with more mature students than normal first years. This is a more specific query than normal.
Yes we have a great mixture of students living with us at St Davids, First , second & third year including mature students. :-)
Swansea University have loads of options when you apply for accommodation. There’s an option to live in a flat of only mature students if you’d like, as well as options for single sex, alcohol free, welsh speaking and quiet.
Bay is the nicest accommodation in my opinion as it’s modern. although the bus journey to Singleton campus is a little long (between 20-45mins depending on what bus you get and what time) it’s not unreasonable.
