I was just talking to this girl I like for ages over the fone, and decided things were going quite well so I asked her if I could take her out sometime later on in the summer hols.
After agonisingly explaining wot I meant by 'take you out' (as if she was just checking I didnt want to beat her up) she said 'we'll see, I'm not sure' and then after a ridiculously long pause 'i don't want to talk to you about this over the fone'.
All i wanted was a simple yes or no - now i won't see her for 3 weeks so I'm in limbo.

Why do girls do this??
b/c they are girls mate....
on a more serious note, has it occured to you that perhaps she didnt see this coming, and thought of you more of a really really close friend? and when you asked her out, it kinda blew her outta da water?

she saw it coming, pretty much the entire year at school has been telling her how much I like her, and also telling me how much she likes me. Don't mean to sound arrogant but I was expecting a positive answer
I dont know nervousness takes its effect. But I wish he would just come out with the question "do you like me?". Why cant guys be straight? .....I dont know if he uses TSR he is travelling anyway so most likely not on TSR.
How odd. Had I reacted like that, it would have been because I didn't want to go out with you but I wanted to spare your feelings. If you keep pushing, she may relent.

well, then maybe she found another guy that is more "available"

where a guy and girl that could potentially date b/c that like each other hang out for so long and so often w/o taking it that extra step that the relationship gets caught in the "friend" zone..never progresses...and it's usually the girls decision... i really never understood that
I agree with Smoobla, I think she probably doesn't feel the same way, and is using this as an excuse to turn you down. By saying 'i don't want to talk to you about this over the fone', she is probably afraid to say no over the phone and doesn't know what to do. Sorry OP
