Hi, I was wondering if I cold put my MasterClass experience in my Ucas personal statement. I’m applying to an undergraduate course for Business & Management, and I’ve seen a lot of MasterClass related to this subject.

Is this PS for this year?

Yes, you can. If you have things that aren't more 'impressive' or urgent that need to go on there, then put it in. GL xx

It shows that you are willing to go beyond the syllabi to explore your interests, which is highly impressive.

Sorry for my chaotic posts, just wanted to get back to you ASAP

Yes, I’m sending it today, but I got recommended to not put TedxTalks in it, so I was thinking if I could at least put MasterClass in it.

So I submitted my application yesterday and now I'm very worried my personal statement. I wrote that I'm very interested in genetic engineering which is a specialisation of biomedical engineering, and listed down an article I read about genetic engineering. But just now I saw some people on Quora saying that genetic engineering is not related to biomedical engineering, I'm worried tge school will think that I'm not familiar with my course of study and not offering me a place. Do you guys think it'll affect a lot?

I don’t know much about that field of specialisation, so the most I can do is contact directely your univerisities and send them an email in which you specify the reason for the email and attach a file where you have written all the things you need; that is if you judge that part very crucial that it can damage your ps.
When writing your file, try maybe to add something else to it, to make it more “full”; and most importantly check if the uni accept additional emails.

Hope it helps.

I'm quite sure the school does not accept this type of e-mail. As it had already pass the deadlines and personal statement should be checked multiple times before submitting, that's why I'm anxious now. I checked many times before submitting, but I didn't think about that only after I submitted application.

Usually uni in the acceptance email tells you whether or not they accept, you should check, you still have 2 hours before the deadline though I don’t think it’s a problem to send additional info after the deadline.

I have sent before additional info, and they accepted (my situation is a bit weird, but that’s not important). American uni also accept additional email, like NYU.

So what should I write in the email? Like tell them I'm not very sure if genetic engineering is a specialisation of biomedical engineering and hope that they can let me change the part in my personal statement?

No, not like that; you have to make it sound like a minor error.

“Recently I’ve come to realise I failed to correct a detail that otherwise would have changed the meaning of the phrase; I mentioned that gen eng is part of biomed eng, but it is not; what I meant is that I have read articles of gen eng that made connection to biomed eng; but the most fascinating article was -the one you mentioned-; I hope that you take in account my coorection, I apologise for any incovenience that I may caused you, best regards” something of this sort

A self made correction shows you realised an error, at least you understand that ther’s no correlation between these two subjects.

Oh yes, mention the article that found connection between these two subject, search on internet, add it, read it, so that you’re prepared if they want to interview you.

Thank you very much! But I applied to 5 schools, so I guess I have to email all of them.
