if my exam weights are
Part A - weight 30% but i got 45%
Part B - weight 70% then whats the lowest I can get in this to get an overall pass?

Assuming the pass is 40 I think that you would need to get about 38% in the exam. I think there are websites you can use to check though as I did it manually so might not be quite right.

if the pass is 40 then 40 you need passes at both.

Check your uni regulations, its often the case that you will need to pass EVERY element especially one weighted at 70% of a module.

that said if its an overall average you need 38%.

Your at uni: learn how to do weighted averages...
(AxM1 + BxM2...) / (A+B...) = Maverage ; where (A,B,C is a weighting/credit & M means mark ie % score
