Hiya! Gonna be coming to York in September but haven't seen the accommodation in person. Anyone in the cheapest rooms at Halifax, Derwent or Vanbrugh who can tell me what they're like and post some pics?

Hi haven't got pics as such as only seen them on open day. Halifax's was not too bad. Derwent and Vanbrugh was pretty basic. Donald and barbara court ensuite in Vanbrugh was more better, but your paying for about the same price as alciun ensuite. There are some virtual tours on line. If you happy with a room that's basic, but clean and does the job, then Derwent and Vanbrugh are your ones. And they have a sink so thats good.. you can always tailor it to your taste any way with sheets, lamp etc.

Hi there,

We have virtual tours of our rooms on our websites, so you can see what rooms within the different pricing bands look like. Just click on one of the colleges and then you can see what each college has to offer accommodation-wise.

Hope this helps!

I don't have pictures, but I lived in the cheapest accommodation in Halifax in my first year. The bedrooms are good quality, I had plenty of space to store all my stuff, a large desk, a comfy bed, etc. The shared bathrooms were cleaned every week-day so they're pretty good. The kitchens are shared between over 10 people though, so... yeah, they'll get messy. If you like socialising with lots of people then sharing with that many people can be fun, but I highly recommend sharing a kitchen with as few people as possible if you're a stickler for cleanliness.
