Budgeting is important for everyone. You need to be able to ensure you have enough money to feed yourself, pay your rent, cover transport etc until your next payment date.

Budget is key. A lot of unis are signed up with Blackbullion - a financial education website - so when you get an offer you can try logging in. They have loads of stuff on budgeting which should help

Hi springdcy!

Budgeting for students is important, especially if you're going to be paying for your own accommodation. But don't worry, budgeting doesn't have to be hard or scary at all!

The best way to set yourself up an easy budget is to work out how much money you will be getting in total (this could be a student loan, a job, money from carers etc) and then work out how much money you'll need to pay for your essentials (rent, travel, food, bills).

Once you know these two numbers, you can take away the essentials number from the income number and work out how much you have left to spend on yourself or how much more you may need.

Out of interest, will you be going into halls or renting privately?
