Part-time work options for students at the University of Chester

Hi, I am wondering about how easy it is to find part-time work in Chester, while attending the university as a postgraduate student. What kind of work is available as well i.e. retail, office work, animal care or farms etc.? Any advice from undergrads or postgrads would be much appreciated!

Hi, im guessing a lot will be on course intensity. For an average masters I think its very do-able. Something like 4-6 hours a week, you may have to dial it back during exams and coursework deadlines tho.

No idea about Chester, but in my experience students who are keen for part-time work can often find it in retail/fast-food/cafe/uni support team/venue support (stadium stewarding etc.) get on google. Chester uni might already have a program to help.

Hi Ketsu,
There's loads of shops/restaurants in Chester so finding a part time contract in that sort of work shouldn't be an issue, a number of students (both undergrad and postgrad). The uni do also have on site jobs for students, it's maybe worth you contacting them about that.

Thank you. I wasn't sure since it's a medium-sized town if the retail and sales-type jobs might be saturated what with all the students.

Probably do already have lots of students working there, but these sort of part-time jobs are often popping up and people leave them all the time, its just the nature of the jobs both parties can be fairly non-committal.

If your very keen for work, and pro-active im sure you'll find it.

It's a city. Small compared to others, but a city.
And nope, that sort of work isn't saturated with students - there's a lot of more local people in that sort of work. Oh and don't forget the pub/restaurant trade for looking for jobs in Chester...

Quite a few of my daughters friends work over at Cheshire Oaks.
