The Oscars definitely need to be more diverse. It's like they embraced Black Lives matter for a couple of years and then just forgot about it. Lip service only. Ditto women. Greta Gerwig and Celine Sciamma should both have been recognised for their directing. The Academy is run by a load of rich old white men so what do we expect? I think/ hope we are at a real cultural tipping point and people like Lawrence Fox will start to be seen as dinosaurs and more people will embrace the energy and talent and stories coming from our minorities. There are at least some good films being judged this year- last year was not a good year. I hope Parasite wins big. I love JoJo Rabbit too. I am a screenwriter though so it all matters to me. I think most people don't really give a **** and just watch it for the frocks!
