He was eating a bag of peanuts and dried fruits while talking to me and fed me the dried fruit pieces. It was a game, he was making me guess which flavour he was putting into my mouth.

If you have contracted something it won't be any of the serious ones. Probably at worst Chlamidia, Gono, or Syph, because they're the more 'active' (right word to use in this situation?) All treatable with medication.

if you dont think syphilis is serious you really really should do some research

Well i had syphilis and got treated for it, hence it wasn't serious. I know damn well it can cause serious health problems if it isn't treated, what i was indicating to the OP is that if you get it and have it treated then it won't cause you any lasting damage unlike HIV for example.

Yes i know that, but although you can suppress the effects of HIV, you still have it so it's alot more serious than Syph, which can be removed from your system.

It's still damaging. ALWAYS need to have protected sex, oral too - if a condom splits or breaks you face the fun of going through the testing procedure for your partner. And how about having kids? IVF (expensive)? 2% chance of passing it on to a child if you're female?

Plus there's the whole part where no, most people don't have 'full' or 'healthy' lives with HIV by a normal person's definition.

No, it most definitely is damaging. Maybe not physically so in all cases but there's a lot of emotional turmoil to go through.
