Beetroot Permeability Experiment - A-level Biology

Do we need to know the steps for this practical and the whole process and what happens for exams? Or osmosis practical is the one we need to know?
For the new spec of Edexcel IAL, it stated CORE PRACTICAL 3 "Investigate membrane properties including the effect of alcohol and temperature on membrane permeability" and RECOMMENDED ADDITIONAL PRACTICAL "Investigate tissue water potentials using plant tissue and graded concentrations of a solute." Personally I've quite a lot of past paper (old spec) and there are a few questions about investing effect of temperature (or alcohol concentration) of beetroot membrane and I suggest you take a look at the mark scheme of it. It's basically all u need to know for that experiment. I'll say do make sure u know everything mentioned in the spec cuz u will never know what will come up in the exam. For the osmosis one, I'm not sure but I did both practical in the school lessons.
