I can't come to terms with being asexual I feel by being asexual I am destined for a life of loneliness, no one would marry me on my terms. I have always been repulsed by sexual acts even now that I am grown up. I always wanted to marry and have someone to share my emotions and deepest thoughts with and share my life with. I want someone to share my shadow with and to spend the rest of my life with. But only 1% of the population is asexual what are my chances of even finding anyone I don't mind the gender if I am honest.

60 million people in the UK. 16 miillion of them are aged 18 to 39.

Half of them will be male or female.

1% of 8 million is: 80,000

That's a large enough pool of people to pick from.

You will probably have to be active on the marketing front to find someone sooner rather than later.

Why not - for example - start a website or forum for asexual people?

^ What they said. Or you accept that you will have to have sex for the sake of your partner.

The right person will accept the fact that you're asexual and won't pressure you into anything. You don't have to "accept sex for the sake of your partner". Would definitely recommend asexual dating apps (if those are even real) or joining some online or real life communities and clubs to meet people, but being asexual definitely doesn't limit you to just dating other asexuals.

I'm demisexual, on the asexual spectrum, and I've found a partner. It's possible.

why. its not like you see on tv it can be very gentle and loving. but if you find the right person and you really cant then they will understand. seriously sex may seem like a big deal when young.but when you have been married for donkey years its nice but no biggy. try not to discount anything.
