Cut off dates apply for such things as overtime and expenses, and new employees. If you are paid monthly you will be paid on approximately the same date every month provided you were in the company before the cut off date. Sometimes if you join later than that you can get an advance paid to tide you over.

Ahh right, so if pay day for everyone is on the 8th of August, i started on the 7th of July, so... does this mean i miss the cut off and thus get paid on the 8th like everyone else?
If payday is 8 August and the cut off date is 1 August (the week before, as you said in the OP), you should get paid on 8 August.

With us, our last pay day was about the 27th June or so. The next pay date is this Fri, the 25th. I only get paid from what I've done in the period of 28th June-11th July. They're usually 2 week periods.
could someone help me please?. I started working for sports direct on the 2nd of May 2022, however I didn’t get paid on the 31st of May. I only got my commission money. Is this due to the cut off dates. I’m not sure.could someone clarify this with me please.
