So I'm doing a research report on the abolishment of the death penalty.

The question presented is 'To what Extent was the abolishment of the death penalty in 1965 due to a shift in public opinion against the practice'.

I can't find any evidence to write my report and I'm really struggling. I also need evidence from the past to support my question and 2 historians opinions.

Can anyone help with this? Or know any good places go get info?

I believe you will have to do some research.
There should be plenty of books on the history of the death penalty or social history of the UK or political history or legal history.

You then find the chapter covering 1960-66 and find out the debates and reasons for it coming into existence.

You can use:

The library
The internet.
https://www.google.com/search?client...nishment+in+uk
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capita...United_Kingdom
Youtube.- documentaries.
Buying cheap 2nd hand books from amazon. This is a good source for finding other views and specialist books.
Share the cost with a few friends .
