Vectors physics question

Hey guys theres this question I tried to solve using the cos sin method I didnt get the right answer, the correct method is calculating using vector resolution I'm not sure how to pick the method I should use as they r both valid for non perpendicular vectors (number 2 in the pic) xxx thnx in advancee

Hi, fellow A-Level physics student here,
For this question I would find the horizontal component of the forces using sin where F= Fcos(angle). Since they are going in the same direction I would add the two forces.

Good luck!
