I may be wrong or outdated but last I knew the GNVQ Intermediate was equivelent to 4 GCSEs, a BTEC National Diploma is equivelent to 3 A Levels (BTEC National Award = 1 A Level, BTEC National Certificate = 2 A Levels).

So basically, the BTEC (provided it is a National of some type) is higher than the GNVQ level wise.

yes the btec ive taken was a national diploma, so the gnvq was a level 2 and the btec is a level 3, so surely i should have been able to get some help regarding paying for the course as the btec was my first level 3course

I think we need to Compare Advanced level 3 GNVQ AND Advanced Level 3 BTEC , as my GNVQ level 3 is equivalent to 2 A-levels
I think that if you undertook 18 units, then the GNVQ was the equivalent of 3 A Levels.
