Please stay calm. We know this will eventually happen.

The risk to most is still relatively low (and I work at a hospital).

Just make sure you wash your hands regularly, practise standard hygienic techniques and you should be OK.

Remember the mortality rate of this virus is still quite low, and it's lower than many influenza strains.

Don't freak out like people in HK  https://www.scmp.com/video/hong-kong...virus-outbreak

I really wish people would stop acting like its the black plague or something.
The only people so far who have died were in some way shape or form immuno-compromised. You WON'T get a fatal flu from playing basketball with Chinese university students, and some of the behaviour i've seen from some people on the internet (such as people saying racist things like "they eat dogs! what did we expect!") is frankly disgusting.
Like if everyone could grow up about this that'd be really cool.
Signed,

😑 I better not get it. Ik I’m not likely gonna die cause I’m young n all but like I’ve never been hospitalised before and don’t want to be in the following months when I’ve got exams.

Also I fear for those who are vulnerable. A shame better measures weren’t taken when the outbreak began.

Have those Chinese students actually been in China recently? If not it's probably just normal flu, even if they have, it's still in all probability just normal flu. Either way, a spot of medicinal whisky will see you right. I can highly recommend Ardbeg 10 year old single malt.

They've been quarantined so you have nothing to worry about.
Imagine if it was you and you were stranded in Wuhan when this all started.

If they are from Hubei, then its pretty standard, but I'm just watching to see if they are from another province, which would be a bit more worrying.

This case has nothing to do with those.. already been confirmed to be a separate incident.

That is entirely separate, the repatriated citizens are to be put into a 2 week quarantine anyway.
