Rather than relying on masturbation, why not throw your crutch away and seek out a sex life?

Surely that is better than spending all your time masturbating and then having an existential crisis over your jacking off habits?
Well Kitty, you could look at the milliion and one posts that start

I'm (insert age here) and never had a bf/gf or
I'm (insert age here) and I've never had sex

or you could just take it for granted that 99% of the TSR users just have to rely on "alone fun time" because it saves them talking to someone or posting the why is he texting his ex, why is he watching porn, why doesn't he like me anymore posts that are posted everyday.

So everyone here would rather have this 'mystical' sex life that you talk about but know your audience.

No you can not get "quite easily" desensitized using porn and masturbating. It's a myth. Nerve endings are not permanently damaged by the vast majority of forms of masturbating. No more than your hands would get desensitized from using them a lot if you are an artist, a potter, a bricklayer, a plasterer.
You'd have to work very hard at it to become permanently desensitized to sex through porn and masturbation. Even then there's no guarantees you'd become desensitized.

It's debatable whether porn is the antithesis of equality. As long as the people involved in making porn are happy to do it, I can't see a problem with it. The amount of money the models get paid would go a long way to making them happy to do it.
Exploitative porn on the other hand is morally and ethically and usually legally wrong.

I totally agree about your point that it's better to masturbate than to become aggressive.
I think you can. Because with porn the mild stuff is no longer stimulating so you watch more violent and extreme stuff to become aroused. Also 'perfect' female bodies. Then you come to expect the same from sex irl, and so ordinary sex with an ordinary woman isn't arousing enough. Or if you masturbate with too much speed, friction, or grip, again sex won't be physically enough, a vagina can't match up to that.

Well it usually depicts women being treated as sex objects, merely for the gratification of men. As well as the power balance and violence. But everyone has their own opinions on porn so fairs

As I keep saying on this forum: Porn is to real sex what wrestling is to hand to hand combat.

There may be some people that think that wrestling is real or a genuine competitive sport. The rest of us realise that it's a rigged, over the top, stilted form of entertainment. That mimics some aspects of hand to hand combat, but it isn't genuine hand to hand combat. And that if you want to learn how to survive an attack from a crazed burglar, watching wrestling isn't the best way to learn.

Most of the porn I've seen hasn't featured particularly attractive artistes. As a very general sweeping statement, as porn gets more extreme the attractiveness of the artistes goes down.

I'd rather look at soft porn featuring beautiful people than hard porn featuring less beautiful people. I don't know how many men have similar tastes to me. All I can say is that for me, it's absolute nonsense that the mild stuff becomes no longer stimulating.

My girlfriend is as attractive to me as the vast majority of porn stars. She's not perfect to look at. But neither are the vast majority of porn stars by any means. I don't require perfect looks to become very turned on. Good enough is good enough.

The sex featured in the porn films I've watched has been nothing special and is not something that I would look to emulate. Competent love making is different to what you see in a porn flick. With just one example being that I very rarely ejaculate outside of my partner's body.

I can't see sex with my girlfriend ever not being arousing enough. Regardless - hypothetically - of how much porn I watched or masturbation I did. Real love making with someone you love is more arousing than porn or masturbation can ever be.

The only way I'd ever not get aroused by real love making would be if my cardio vascular system was totally shot.

It's anti feminism, the treatment of women in the industry, violence towards women, objectification of women etc etc
Morality is debatable I guess, but I believe it's immoral
Except most of the women in the porn industry you see are there by choice and get paid a hell of a lot more than the men.
I thought feminism was about giving women the freedom of choice? Choosing to do porn fits under that definition right?

Are there studies done to prove that watching porn leads to people watching more and more violent porn? I've been watching porn for more than 10 years and have always had the same tastes, never gone onto anything violent or extreme so there's an outlier straight away.

Most, but not all. It is their choice, but I don't support it due to the depiction of women in porn, it can have negative consequences, as well as just porn in general.

I must say that is pretty sweet lucky gf

I think everyone is different, and they are affected by things differently. What's good for some may be damaging for others, and porn/masturbation is a controversial issue because the effects for people are so varied.

I agree with all yoy say but that last part is deffo subjective as I find that a major turn off but one nights stands a turn on. Think the more emotion in it the more boring it is. But that's just me.

It would be hard for me to find a girl and I wouldn’t be able to bring her home
A romantic park picnic will do, there is no need to introduce her to your parents.

i think that's a problem with society porn is one click away and its easy to fall into the trap of using it as a substitute to a real life person. porn is easy, it doesn't reject you, its instant gratification i.e. no dates, waiting etc

If you go onto the BMW forum, you'd think that that brand of car is the most unreliable ever. Because when their cars are working fine people don't tend to go on forums and say that their cars are working fine.

Just as people, where porn and masturbation is working fine for them, don't tend to go online and say so.

Probably even more so. Because masturbation is a more private and personal matter than car ownership.

The people on those forums are but a fraction of the amount of people who watch porn with no ill effects and don't feel the need to move onto violent stuff. I'd imagine that says more about those people than porn itself.

The Porn Addiction Basics page of nofap.com lists the folowing as 4 of their psychological symptons of porn addiction:

Low self-esteem or -confidence
Sense of shame
Low mood or agitated mood*
Lack of motivation

https://nofap.com/porn-addiction/

Are those symptons the result of porn addiction?
Or are those features a sign that someone might be prone to porn addiction?

In other words what are the chances that someone that has the following would become addicted to porn?
High self esteem or confidence
No sense of shame when it comes to porn and masturbation
A good mood. Or relaxed mood
Highly motivated

I'd say it's next to nothing!

You're literally an idiot. Porn is harmful, as a matter of neurological fact. That is, regardless of whether you've convinced yourself that porn is harmless (just as many smokers deluded themselves into thinking that tobacco was harmless), the fact remains that watching porn affects the brain is similar ways as drugs and alcohol. Evolution didn't program us to sit on computer screens touching ourselves to other people having sex. But if you want to have sex with your computer, go right ahead. I can't wait for the day that modern science establishes the harms of porn as fact (which WILL inevitably happen, the truth always comes out). Then, porn boys like you are going to realize how stupid you were defending the thing that is harming you more than you can probably imagine.

LOL. Well if you say next to nothing, then it must be true. After all, you are an eminent scientist aren't you... Do me a favour, when you do eventually realize how dumb you are, record your reaction for me... I want to say i told you so

Needlessly insulting people by calling them an idiot makes you the idiot as it shows you can't have a civil discussion without resorting to childish name calling. I mean, christ, "porn boys"? Really? Have a word with yourself and stop clutching your pearls.
Also, I'm not male. So that part of your argument is invalid anyway.
Watched porn since for many years, have never had any ill effects, still have a healthy sex life and don't find it difficult at all to have a realistic view about sex.
